But it was the intensity that truly captured Dom's attention. While it was acknowledged by most on the set that Elijah was the prettiest and Viggo the most rugged and Bean the sexiest, Dom thought Karl might be the most alluring. The drive, the sheer seductiveness of Karl beckoned with the promise of wicked pleasures. All that mystery and tightly wound control would be a lovely thing to have focused solely on him. It certainly made for nice late night fantasies. The Hobbits had taken to throwing a weekly cast and crew party on Saturdays at Elijah's house as a way to blow off steam. Most everyone dropped by, if they were in the city or weren't still working. It would be a perfect opportunity. Dom waited until the end of the day on Saturday before approaching Karl. The day's filming had been wickedly long. The battle of the Pelennor Fields was a pivotal one and they'd been shooting in the same dusty field for the better part of three weeks. But it was the end of the week, finally, and everyone was looking forward to the expected party. The Hobbits definitely knew how to throw one. Dom had been waylaid by Peter for some last minute script changes and, as a result, Karl was almost at the trailer he shared with Viggo when Dom finally caught up with him. "Hey, wait up!" he shouted. Karl turned around gracefully, still dressed in the armor and blond wig of his character. But the alert eyes were pure Karl. Dom started taking off his own wig, sticking the hairpins in his pocket so he wouldn't lose them. "You are coming tonight, right?" he asked, keeping his tone conversational. "The weekly?" Karl asked. Dom nodded. "Perhaps," Karl answered and started to walk away. Never one to resist a good last word, Dom called after him. "It promises to be most entertaining," he said, deliberately dropping his voice to a seductive purr on the last word. Karl stopped, turned around and lifted a heavily made-up eyebrow. "You have no idea what I find entertaining, boy." Dom sidled up, all insouciant charm. And dropped the gauntlet. "No, but I'd like to." Keen eyes seemed to peel away to his core. "Be careful what you wish for, Dominic. Someone's bound to grant it sooner or later." Dom rolled his eyes. Melodrama bored him. "Whatever. Just say you'll be there." Karl studied him for such a long moment that Dom began to get uncomfortable. Those eyes really did see too much. "I'll be there," Karl stated, walked away again. And this time Dom let him go. But not before smiling in triumph at the other man's back. Orlando was going to be fucking green. Onto Part Two
