Title: "Cold Comfort"
Pairing: Arthur, Dagonet
Rating: PG
Summary: There was no victory here.
Disclaimer: Never happened. All rights belong to Touchstone Pictures, not me.
Notes: For Wendy, for this drabble challenge.
Dagonet'd been warm in life -- quick to laugh, quick to passion, the first to buy a round, the last to leave the battlefield. He hadn't been the smartest of Arthur's knights, nor the most reckless, but he'd been stalwart. Steady. Depended on to get the job done no matter the cost.
Some would have called it a victory -- facing an army on the ice and losing only one man in the battle. But, looking at the boy gripping fingers cold in death as they'd never been in life, Arthur would beg to disagree.
There was no victory here. Only silence.
